Tiv App - For Gamers, By Gamers

Tiv was a cross-platform React Native app I had the pleasure of working on, aimed at changing the gaming experience by rewarding avid gamers for doing what they love most: playing games. The core concept was simple but powerful: earn points for engaging with your favorite games, then redeem them for rewards, so the ecosystem adds real value to time spent playing.
Key features of the Tiv App included:
- Cross-platform compatibility (iOS and Android)
- User authentication and profiles
- Game tracking and point accumulation system
- Rewards marketplace
- Social features for connecting with other gamers (leaderboards!)
- Quests and challenges to keep users engaged
- In-app notifications and updates for new rewards and games
- Integration with PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and even mobile games
- A financial debit card product for cashing out points

Day to day, I spent a lot of time in the hard parts of React Native: auth, syncing state, realtime-feeling updates, and UI that had to feel native on both platforms. Designing the points economy was its own puzzle: fair enough that power users felt respected, still interesting enough that people would try new games. Layering social features and motion on top made the app feel alive rather than like a spreadsheet with a joystick.
Gamification can be gimmicky; here it was the whole point. Tiv tried to turn solo play into something you could compare and celebrate with other people, without losing the core idea that playing should earn you something tangible. For me it was also proof that React Native can carry a deep, multi-surface product when the team is willing to invest in polish.
