Truenorth - Profit For Truckers

Truenorth is a dual-platform product I helped build for logistics: a React Native app for carriers (truckers) and a React web app for brokers, so job search, availability, and load offers could live in one connected system instead of a pile of phone tags and spreadsheets.

Mobile app for carriers

  • iOS and Android
  • Job search and load management
  • Real-time availability sharing
  • AI-powered voice agent for collecting information on the road
  • Auth0 for sign-in and account security
  • Reanimated and Moti for motion that still feels usable in a cab

Web app for brokers

  • Carrier relationship management
  • Direct job and load offers
  • React with ShadcnUI and Tailwind
  • MUI where we wanted denser, familiar patterns
  • TanStack Table for large, sortable carrier and load views

AI stack

  • Vapi, ElevenLabs, Twilio, and GPT-4 wired together for the voice agent
  • Real-time availability and matching workflows on top of that pipeline
  • Voice-first data capture so drivers are not typing at 65 mph

On mobile, most of the effort went into a workflow that felt fast and legible for people who live in short sessions between stops. Reanimated and Moti made transitions feel intentional instead of janky. Auth0 was non-negotiable for anything touching identity and documents. One feature I especially liked shipping was document upload with OCR: snap paperwork, pull structured load fields automatically, and cut down re-keying for drivers.

Truenorth Web App

The broker web app needed a different shape: dense tables, filters, and long sessions at a desk. ShadcnUI plus Tailwind gave us a consistent layout system; MUI filled gaps for complex controls; TanStack Table carried the heavy grids. Brokers could negotiate, counter-offer, favorite carriers, and generally run the relationship side of the business without leaving the app.

The AI work was the part that felt most like science fiction turned product. We used Vapi, ElevenLabs, Twilio, and GPT-4 so a voice agent could check availability and capture structured answers while someone is driving. I led our onsite hackathon effort on that slice, and watching it graduate from demo to something shippable was a highlight of that year.

Truenorth is what I point to when people ask whether modern web, mobile, and AI can actually move a traditional industry. Thoughtful use of those tools can improve efficiency and outcomes for everyone in the chain, not just one side of the market. I got to help ship something that genuinely makes day-to-day life easier for truckers, and helping people in that concrete way is what I love most about building software. Truenorth was a strong reminder that technology can be a force for good when it is aimed at a real problem.
